DOMREBEL X PEACE & K-OS

The one-of-a-kind piece we created for the anniversary of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's bed-in for peace was presented last night during the PEACE & K-OS show at Montreal's Festival Mode & Design. A performance by K-OS topped off the event which featured creations by BODYBAG by jude, Dinh Ba Design, Denis Gagnon, Dom Rebel, Philippe Dubuc, Envers par Yves Jean Lacasse, Harricana, Helmer, Marie Saint-Pierre, Michel Desjardins, Morales, Muse par Christian Chenail, Myco Anna, Nadya Toto and Tavan & Mitto. All creations were inspired by the bed-in and IMAGINE:The Peace Ballad of John & Yoko exposition currently running out its last days at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

The Dom Rebel creation features a two-photo frame of John & Yoko in their hotel bed at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in 1969, each holding a flower and looking toward the window. The saying "L'Amour et la Paix" is written in graffiti style across the top and bottom of the frame. That saying was written on a piece of paper that they taped to the wall behind their bed while they stayed in Montreal. Three white roses, representing peace, fall from the right side of the frame. The graffiti words are embellished with 200 hand-set Jet Hematite Swarovski Crystals. On the back of the shirt, the lyrics to "Give Peace A Chance", which was recorded during their stay in Montreal, are printed in the original handwriting of John Lennon. At the bottom of the back of the shirt is a hand-drawn portrait of John & Yoko, drawn by John Lennon.
