Damien Hirst "The Blue Paintings"

I've always been a big fan of Francis Bacon. So when I learned that Damien Hirst's newest works were inspired by the famous artist, I decided to pay closer attention than I usually do to Hirst's work. I wasn't instantly taken in, but there are certain ambiance and layering effects that have me mesmerized by these paintings, especially the three pieces you see below, with Hirst in the foreground. The Blue Paintings Exhibition takes place at The Wallace Collection in London through January 24th, 2010.
